The BONEHAM PT1610CY is a press fit headless drill bushing used to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. Manufactured from steel with a hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides a wear-resistant bore that maintains accurate tool guidance across repeated use. The inside diameter measures 0.098 inches (Number 40 wire gauge equivalent) with a tolerance of positive 0.0001 to positive 0.0004 inches, ensuring tight, repeatable alignment. It is installed without a head or flange, seating flush within a jig plate. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and manufacturing maintenance crews install this type of bushing in drill jigs and fixture plates.
The PT1610CY suits precision drilling applications in machine shops, production environments, and maintenance repair operations. Its headless profile makes it appropriate for installations where the bushing must sit flush with or below the surface of a jig plate. The body outside diameter is 0.25 inches and the overall length is 0.625 inches, sizing it for compact fixture applications where space between drill stations is limited. This bushing is a fixed, non-renewable type, meaning it is pressed permanently into the jig plate and is not designed for field replacement without re-pressing.
Designed as a standard ANSI press fit headless drill bushing compatible with jig plates and fixture assemblies drilled to accept a 0.25-inch outside diameter bushing with a 0.625-inch depth.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush within a precision-bored jig plate hole. The bushing bore and receiving hole should be measured and confirmed to specification before pressing to avoid distortion of the inside diameter. This is a permanent press fit component — removal typically requires pressing out from the reverse side and may render the bushing unusable for reinstallation. Always deburr and clean the receiving hole before pressing the bushing into place.
