The BONEHAM PT1610 is a headless press fit drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools accurately during drilling, reaming, or boring operations. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear and maintains dimensional stability under repeated tool pass-through. It features a 9/64 inch inside diameter, a 1/4 inch body outside diameter, and a 5/8 inch overall length. The headless design allows it to sit flush within a jig plate, making it well suited for applications where a protruding flange would interfere with workpiece clearance or fixture stacking. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this component into drill jig assemblies to control tool location and extend jig service life.
This bushing is used in precision drill jig setups across metalworking, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments. It is press fit directly into a hardened or unhardened jig plate and is intended as a permanent, non-renewable installation. The P industry code designates its dimensional series per ANSI standards, making it a standard cataloged size recognized across tooling and fixture fabrication workflows.
Designed as an ANSI-standard P-series press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jig plates requiring a 1/4 inch OD bore and 9/64 inch tool guidance diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing flush into a prepared jig plate bore. The receiving bore should be sized and finished to achieve the required interference fit for press fit bushings per ANSI jig bushing standards. Do not hammer the bushing in directly without a proper driver to avoid distorting the ID or damaging the jig plate. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, the jig plate bore must be properly sized before installation, as removal will likely damage the plate.
