The BONEHAM PT128CY is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. With an inside diameter of 0.098 inches (Wire Size 40) and a body outside diameter of 3/16 inches, this bushing delivers tight, repeatable hole location in production and job-shop environments. It installs via press fit into a prepared hole in a drill jig plate and requires no head or flange for retention. The overall bushing length is 1/2 inch. Machined from steel, it provides the wear resistance and dimensional stability expected in repetitive drilling operations.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and templates where consistent hole placement is required across multiple workpieces. The headless design is appropriate for applications where the bushing must sit flush with the jig plate surface or where clearance above the plate is restricted. It is a non-renewable type, meaning it is intended as a permanent press-in installation rather than a slip-renewable or lock-renewable configuration. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the typical installers in both production and maintenance settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press fit headless drill bushing conforming to Industry Code P specifications, compatible with jig plates and fixtures bored to accept a 3/16-inch outside diameter press fit bushing.
Press fit bushings are typically installed by toolmakers or fixture builders using an arbor press to drive the bushing into a precision-bored hole in the jig plate. The receiving bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation to ensure proper retention. Do not hammer the bushing in directly without a proper driver, as this can damage the bushing bore or distort the OD. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and reuse.
