The BONEHAM PT128CU is a Type P press fit headless drill bushing machined from steel for use in jig and fixture applications. It installs without a locking mechanism — the press fit holds the bushing firmly in the jig plate under normal drilling loads. The inside diameter is 3/32 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance drill guidance. The body outside diameter is 3/16 inches and the overall bushing length is 1/2 inch. Tool and die makers, machinists, and fixture builders select this style when a flush, low-profile bushing is required and the bushing is intended as a permanent installation.
This bushing is used in drilling jigs, machining fixtures, and production tooling where a drill, reamer, or other cutting tool must be accurately guided through a workpiece. The headless design keeps the top face of the bushing flush with the jig plate surface, which is useful when clearance above the plate is limited or when the fixture must locate directly against a flat workpiece surface. It is a non-renewable bushing, meaning it is pressed in once and is not designed for routine field replacement. Industry code P identifies the dimensional series per standard drill bushing classifications.
Designed as a permanent press fit installation in drill jigs and machining fixtures that accept a 3/16 inch outside diameter Type P headless bushing per standard drill bushing dimensional classifications.
Press fit bushings are installed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or similar controlled-force equipment — do not drive with a hammer. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is not intended for removal or reuse. Verify the bore alignment and finish before pressing to avoid bushing distortion.
