The BONEHAM PT125BW is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in metalworking and machining applications. Manufactured from hardened steel with a surface hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides durable bore guidance under repeated use. The inside diameter is 0.067 inches (wire size No. 51) with a close tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring accurate tool guidance. The outside diameter is 3/16 inches and the overall length is 5/16 inches. It installs without a head, keeping the profile flush or sub-flush with the jig plate surface. This part is installed by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators working with drill jigs and fixture plates.
This bushing suits applications where a permanent, non-renewable press fit installation is required. The headless design is appropriate for jig plates where a flush surface is necessary and where the bushing will not be replaced during the service life of the fixture. Typical use cases include production drilling jigs, assembly fixtures, and close-tolerance guide applications in light to medium machining environments. The ANSI-standard dimensions make it a direct fit in jig plates machined to standard bushing bore specifications.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixture plates machined to accept a 3/16-inch outside diameter permanent bushing bore.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into a precision-bored jig plate hole. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing. Once installed, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement. Ensure the workpiece fixture is fully secured and the press ram is aligned axially with the bushing before applying force to avoid bore damage or bushing distortion.
