The BONEHAM PT124CY is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. This is an industry-code P bushing with a 0.098 inch (wire size 40) inside diameter, a 3/16 inch body outside diameter, and a 1/4 inch overall length. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it delivers the wear resistance required for repeated use in production jigs and fixtures. The headless design allows flush installation in close-tolerance applications where a flanged head would interfere with workpiece clearance or fixture stacking.
This bushing is used in tooling plates, drill jigs, and fixture bodies across general machining, metalworking, and light manufacturing environments. Its press fit installation method suits permanent or semi-permanent fixture setups where the bushing is not intended for routine field replacement. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in job shops, maintenance departments, and production facilities are the primary installers. The ANSI-standard geometry ensures dimensional interchangeability with other ANSI-compliant P-series bushings of the same size.
Designed as an ANSI-standard P-series press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures requiring a 0.098 inch bore with a 3/16 inch body outside diameter and 1/4 inch overall length.
Press fit bushings are installed by a toolmaker or machinist using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into a precisely reamed fixture hole. The receiving hole in the fixture body must be machined to the appropriate press fit tolerance for the 3/16 inch outside diameter to ensure secure retention without distorting the bore. Do not hammer the bushing directly without a proper driver to avoid cracking or misalignment. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and reuse.
