The BONEHAM PT1212DA is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides wear-resistant bore guidance for repetitive drilling operations. The 0.0995 inch inside diameter accepts a Number 39 wire gauge drill, while the 3/16 inch body outside diameter fits a corresponding press fit jig plate bore. The headless design sits flush with the jig plate surface, and the 3/4 inch overall length provides adequate guidance depth for accurate hole placement. It is installed without a retaining head, relying entirely on an interference press fit for retention.
This bushing is suited for use in production and toolroom environments where consistent hole location is required across multiple workpieces. Typical applications include metal fabrication shops, machine shops, and manufacturing facilities that rely on drill jigs to maintain positional accuracy. The press fit installation method makes this bushing a permanent fixture component, appropriate for high-volume applications where the bushing location does not need to change. A licensed machinist or toolmaker typically handles jig plate preparation and bushing installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press fit headless drill bushing conforming to ANSI standards for type P bushings used in drill jig and fixture assemblies.
Press fit headless drill bushings are installed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a prepared jig plate bore. The receiving bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or repositioning. Always verify bore diameter and bushing outside diameter fit before pressing to avoid bushing damage or bore distortion.
