The BONEHAM P8822OJ is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and boring tools with precision in metalworking and fabrication applications. Manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for high-cycle drilling operations. The inside diameter of 61/64 inches holds an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0002 to +0.0006 inches, ensuring consistent hole location and repeatable accuracy. The outside diameter measures 1-3/8 inches with an overall length of 1-3/8 inches. Machinists, tool and die makers, and production fabricators install this type of bushing in jig and fixture assemblies to maintain drill alignment across production runs.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs and fixture plates where a permanent, non-renewable liner is appropriate. The headless design allows flush installation in confined fixture areas where a flanged head would interfere with workpiece clearance or clamping surfaces. Its press fit installation method locks the bushing securely into the jig plate bore without additional fasteners. Typical applications include production drilling in metal fabrication shops, machine shops, and toolroom environments where ANSI-standard tooling is required.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a permanent bushing liner with a 61/64-inch bore.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press to drive the bushing into a properly sized jig plate bore. The jig plate bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation to ensure secure retention. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as this may cause misalignment or damage to the bore. Confirm the jig plate is secured and the bushing is square to the bore face before applying press force.
