The BONEHAM P8816OM is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and boring tools with precision in metalworking and machining operations. Built to industry code P, it features a 31/32 inch inside diameter and a 1-3/8 inch body outside diameter, with an overall length of 1 inch. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for high-cycle production drilling. It meets ANSI standards and installs without fasteners, pressing directly into a mating hole in a jig plate for a secure, flush fit. Machinists, toolmakers, and jig-and-fixture specialists are the primary users.
This bushing suits applications in drill jig assemblies used across general manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and metal fabrication environments. It is appropriate for both production and maintenance toolroom settings where repeatable hole location is required. The headless design keeps the bushing flush with the jig surface, making it well suited for close-tolerance work where a flanged head would interfere with the workpiece or clamp. The press fit installation method is best suited for permanent or semi-permanent bushing stations that do not require routine changeout.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for ANSI-standard drill jig assemblies requiring a press fit headless bushing with a 31/32 inch bore and 1-3/8 inch outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive them in with a hammer, as this can crack the bushing or distort the jig plate bore. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct tolerance fit for a P-series press fit bushing before installation. Once seated, the bushing is not intended for removal without specialized extraction tooling. Always verify bore alignment with the intended drill or reamer before committing the bushing to a permanent fixture.
