The BONEHAM P8812NR is a press fit headless drill bushing manufactured to ANSI standards in steel with a hardness of 60 to 65 HRC. It features a 27/32-inch inside diameter, a 1-3/8-inch outside diameter, and an overall length of 3/4 inch. This bushing is designed to guide twist drills, reamers, and similar cutting tools during precision machining operations, maintaining accurate hole location and protecting the workpiece fixture. It installs without a retaining head, making it well-suited for jig plates where a flush or low-profile installation is required. The inside diameter tolerance of plus 0.0002 to plus 0.0006 inches ensures consistent tool guidance across repeated production runs. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fixture builders working in manufacturing, fabrication, or maintenance environments are the primary users of this component.
The P8812NR is appropriate for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures in both production and prototype environments. Its headless, press fit design allows it to be driven directly into a prepared hole in a jig plate, eliminating the need for a separate liner bushing in fixed-location applications. This bushing is not renewable and is intended for permanent installation. Applications typically include light to medium drilling operations where the bushing position does not need to be changed during a production run. It is suitable for use in general metalworking, aerospace fixture work, and any application requiring ANSI-compliant tool-guidance hardware.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing suitable for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a P-series bushing with a 27/32-inch inside diameter and 1-3/8-inch outside diameter.
Installation is performed by pressing the bushing into a precisely reamed hole in the jig plate using an arbor press or similar pressing tool. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit diameter to achieve proper retention. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as this can cause misalignment or damage the bore. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, removal will typically damage either the bushing or the plate, so verify position before pressing.
