The BONEHAM P568MK is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in fixed jig tooling applications. With an inside diameter of 41/64 inches, a body outside diameter of 7/8 inches, and an overall length of 1/2 inch, this bushing provides repeatable hole location accuracy in production drilling operations. Manufactured from steel, the P568MK is a non-renewable, headless design with an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, meeting close-tolerance requirements in drill jig assemblies. Installation is performed by pressing directly into the jig plate without a liner bushing.
The P568MK is suited for use in machine shops, tooling departments, and manufacturing environments where consistent hole positioning is required across repeated drilling cycles. Its headless profile allows flush seating within the jig plate, making it appropriate for applications where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece clearance or fixturing. This bushing carries the Bushing Industry Code P, a standard classification used across tooling supply and jig-building trades to identify press fit headless bushings by size and fit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press fit headless drill bushing conforming to Bushing Industry Code P standards, compatible with drill jig plates bored to accept a 7/8-inch outside diameter press fit bushing.
Press fit bushings are typically installed by toolmakers or machining professionals using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush and square within the jig plate bore. Ensure the receiving bore in the jig plate is machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing. Do not drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the bore face, as this can damage the inside diameter and compromise drill guidance accuracy. Confirm alignment and seating depth before placing the jig into service.
