The BONEHAM P568LZ is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and boring tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to industry code P, this bushing features a 37/64-inch inside diameter and a 7/8-inch body outside diameter, with an overall length of 1/2 inch. Manufactured from steel, it is installed by press fit directly into a jig plate or fixture body without a locking head. The tight inside diameter tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0005 inches ensures repeatable hole location accuracy across production runs. This is a non-renewable bushing, meaning it is pressed in permanently and is not intended for field replacement during normal operation.
The P568LZ is suited for production drilling, reaming, and boring operations where consistent hole placement is critical. It is used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling bodies across metalworking, machining, and fabrication environments. The headless, flush-mount profile makes it the right choice when clearance above the jig surface is limited or when the workpiece must pass close to the bushing face. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in job shops and production facilities are the primary installers of this component.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for standard P-series press fit headless drill bushing applications in drill jigs and machining fixtures.
Press fit bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never driven with a hammer, which can damage the bore or the jig plate. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal without risk of damage to the surrounding fixture material. Follow standard toolroom practices and applicable shop safety procedures during installation.
