The BONEHAM P568LP is a headless press fit drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in drill jig applications. Manufactured from steel, this bushing features an inside diameter of 33/64 inches and a body outside diameter of 7/8 inches, with an overall length of 1/2 inch. The headless design sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for applications where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece clearance or fixture setup. It installs permanently into a prepared hole using a press fit method and is not intended for removal or replacement during normal service. Machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators rely on this style of bushing to maintain consistent hole location across repeated drilling operations.
The P568LP fits standard drill jig plates used in production machining and fabrication environments. The bushing industry code P designation identifies its dimensional series, allowing straightforward cross-referencing when specifying or replacing bushings within that series. It is appropriate for use in both manual and CNC-assisted jig setups where a fixed, non-renewable guide bushing is acceptable. The 33/64 inch ID accommodates the corresponding drill or reamer size for that bore, and the steel construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for repetitive guided drilling on metal workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates requiring a headless, press fit bushing in the P industry code series with a 33/64 inch inside diameter.
Installation is performed by pressing the bushing into a precisely reamed or bored hole in the jig plate using an arbor press or hydraulic press. The receiving hole must be sized to achieve the correct interference fit — verify hole tolerance against the bushing OD before pressing. Never drive the bushing with an impact tool, as this can distort the bore or damage the seating surface. Once installed, the bushing is not intended for removal without risk of jig plate damage.
