The BONEHAM P5628LX is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to Industry Code P, this headless-style bushing installs permanently into a drill jig plate without a locking collar or head flange. It measures 0.5625 inches (9/16 inches) inside diameter, 7/8 inches outside diameter, and 1-3/4 inches overall length. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it resists wear under repeated drilling, reaming, or boring operations. The inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches for consistent tool guidance. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators install this type of bushing in production and prototype jig work.
This bushing is suited for metalworking and manufacturing environments where a permanent, non-renewable liner bushing is required. Typical applications include drill jigs, assembly fixtures, and machining templates used in production shops, aerospace fabrication, and general metal fabrication. Its headless profile keeps the top of the jig plate flush, which is important when the workpiece must seat directly against the plate surface. It conforms to ANSI standards for drill bushing dimensions and tolerancing.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Industry Code P press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jig plates and machining fixtures requiring a permanent liner bushing with a 9/16 inches ID and 7/8 inches OD.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die professionals using a drill press or arbor press to drive the bushing into a properly toleranced jig plate bore. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance to achieve proper retention. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as this can misalign or crack the bushing. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal or replacement.
