The BONEHAM P485JE is a headless, press fit drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. With an inside diameter of 0.348 inches and a body outside diameter of 0.75 inches, this bushing provides accurate hole location and consistent bore alignment during repetitive drilling operations. The overall length of 0.3125 inches keeps the profile compact for tight fixture setups. Machined from steel, the P485JE is a permanent, non-renewable bushing intended for long-run production jigs where the bushing does not need to be replaced between setups. It is installed by pressing directly into a prepared receiver hole in the jig plate.
This bushing is suited for metalworking, fabrication, and manufacturing environments where precise hole location is critical. It is commonly used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and production tooling across machine shops and assembly operations. The headless design sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it appropriate for applications where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece seating or clamping. The industry code P designation identifies the bushing family and nominal size classification per standard drill bushing specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headless drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates and fixture tooling that accept a 0.75-inch outside diameter bushing with a 0.348-inch bore.
Press fit drill bushings are typically installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press. The receiver hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing the bushing in. Never drive the bushing in with a hammer directly on the bore face, as this can distort the inside diameter and compromise drill guidance accuracy. Verify the bushing is fully seated and flush before placing the fixture into service.
