The BONEHAM P484JQ is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to Industry Code P standards, this bushing installs permanently into a drill jig plate without a locking collar or head flange. The 0.375 inch inside diameter is held to a close tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring accurate drill guidance with minimal deviation. Manufactured from steel, the P484JQ delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for repeated production drilling cycles. The overall bushing length is 0.25 inches, making it suited for thin jig plate installations where a compact profile is needed.
This bushing is used in metalworking, machining, and fabrication environments where a fixed, non-renewable drill guide is required. It presses directly into a prepared hole in a drill jig or fixture plate, providing a permanent locating guide for twist drills, reamers, or similar cutting tools. Typical installers include tool-and-die makers, machinists, and fixture builders working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance departments. Because this is a headless design, it sits flush with or below the jig plate surface, which is critical when clearance above the workpiece is limited.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or original installation component for drill jigs and fixture plates requiring an Industry Code P headless press fit bushing with a 3/8 inch inside diameter and 3/4 inch outside diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die makers using a drill press or arbor press to drive the bushing into a properly sized and toleranced hole in the jig plate. The receiving hole must be prepared to the correct interference fit dimensions to ensure the bushing seats without distortion. Ensure the workpiece and jig are fully secured before pressing the bushing into position. Because this is a non-renewable design, removal after installation is not intended and may damage the jig plate.
