The BONEHAM P4812LK is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide twist drills and reamers with precision in jig and fixture applications. This is a Type P bushing per ANSI standards, with a 0.5-inch inside diameter, a 0.75-inch outside diameter, and an overall length of 0.75 inches. Manufactured from hardened steel, it achieves a surface hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, giving it the wear resistance required for repeated drilling cycles in production environments. The inside diameter holds a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring consistent drill guidance and hole location accuracy. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and jig builders are the typical end users for this component.
This bushing is used in drill jigs, fixtures, and tooling plates where a permanent, flush-mount guide is required. The headless profile keeps the bushing flush with the jig plate surface, which is useful when clearance above the workpiece is limited or when a clean flat surface is needed. The press fit installation method means the bushing is driven into a prepared hole in the jig plate and is not intended for removal and replacement during normal service. It is not a renewable bushing. Applications span general metalworking, precision machining, and production tooling across both job-shop and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Type P press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures requiring a 0.5-inch inside diameter and a 0.75-inch outside diameter press fit bore.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press to drive the bushing into a precision-reamed hole in the jig plate. The receiving bore must be sized to achieve proper press fit interference before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is permanent and is not designed for removal. Always ensure the jig plate and workpiece are secured before beginning any drilling operation.
