The BONEHAM P406JH is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features an inside diameter of 0.358 inches (Letter size T, Wire size P), a body outside diameter of 5/8 inch, and an overall length of 3/8 inch. The bushing is manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, providing the wear resistance required for repetitive drilling, reaming, or boring operations. The headless design allows the bushing to sit flush within the drill jig plate, making it suitable where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece clearance. Installation is accomplished by press fitting the bushing into a prepared jig plate hole.
This bushing is intended for use in drill jig and fixture tooling in manufacturing, machining, and metalworking environments. It is suited for both production shop and toolroom applications where accurate, repeatable hole location is required. The headless style is commonly specified when stacked plates or close-clearance fixtures are in use. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headless drill bushing conforming to ANSI standards, suitable for use in drill jigs and fixtures requiring a P-series bushing with 0.358 inch inside diameter and 5/8 inch outside diameter.
Press fit bushings should be installed by a qualified machinist or tool and die maker using an arbor press to avoid damage to the bushing bore or jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be precision-bored to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement. Inspect the jig plate material and thickness to confirm it is appropriate for the bushing outside diameter and overall length before pressing.
