The BONEHAM P328IM is a P-series press fit headless drill bushing manufactured from hardened steel for use in jig and fixture applications requiring precise hole location and repeatable drill guidance. With an inside diameter of 0.3125 inches (5/16 inches) and a body outside diameter of 1/2 inch, this bushing is pressed permanently into a drill jig plate and requires no additional locking hardware. Hardness runs 60 to 65 HRC, providing long service life under continuous drilling operations. The headless design sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for applications where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece clearance.
This bushing is intended for use in production drilling, reaming, and boring operations across metalworking, machining, and fabrication environments. It is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance departments. The press fit installation method means the bushing is driven or pressed into a prepared hole in the jig plate and is not designed for removal and replacement after installation. It is appropriate for both prototype and production tooling where a fixed, permanent bushing is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style P-series press fit headless drill bushing conforming to ANSI standards, suitable for use in standard drill jig plates wherever a permanent, headless press fit bushing with a 5/16-inch inside diameter and 1/2-inch outside diameter is specified.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into a properly sized and toleranced hole in the jig plate. The jig plate hole must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance to achieve proper retention. Do not drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the bore face, as this can damage the inside diameter tolerance. Once installed, this bushing is not intended for removal; consult ANSI drill bushing standards for recommended hole preparation dimensions.
