The BONEHAM P328GZ is a press fit headless drill bushing used to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. The bushing features a 0.238 inch inside diameter (Letter B) and a 1/2 inch outside diameter, with an overall length of 1/2 inch. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it provides the wear resistance required for repetitive drilling operations in production environments. The headless design allows the bushing to sit flush with the jig plate surface without a protruding collar. This part is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and precision fabricators working with drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling bodies.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig plates where a permanent, non-renewable press fit installation is required. The press fit design locks the bushing into the jig plate bore without fasteners or locking collars. It is appropriate for production drilling setups in metalworking shops, manufacturing facilities, and precision fabrication environments. The headless profile is preferred when jig clearance is limited or when a flush surface finish on the tooling plate is necessary for workpiece positioning.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press fit headless drill bushing conforming to ANSI standards for use in drill jig plates and fixture tooling requiring a permanent bushing installation.
Press fit drill bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive them in with a hammer, as this can crack the jig plate bore or misalign the bushing. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended to be removed or replaced. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and de-energize or lock out any machinery before performing fixture maintenance or bushing installation.
