The BONEHAM P328GO is a press fit headless drill bushing used to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel with a hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear and maintains close tolerances over repeated use. The inside diameter measures 7/32 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, and the body outside diameter measures 1/2 inch with an overall length of 1/2 inch. It is installed without a locking head, seating flush into a prepared hole in a drill jig plate. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders install this type of bushing in production and prototype environments.
This bushing suits metalworking shops, machine shops, and manufacturing facilities where repeatable hole location accuracy is required. The headless design makes it appropriate for applications where a flush or sub-flush surface is necessary on the jig body. It conforms to ANSI standards for press fit drill bushings, making it interchangeable within standard jig tooling setups. Industry code P identifies the bushing series, allowing straightforward cross-reference when replacing worn bushings in existing fixtures.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing in the P series, suitable for use in standard jig plates and fixture bodies requiring a 1/2 inch outside diameter press fit bore.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a properly sized and toleranced bore in the jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig body must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before pressing the bushing in place. Never drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the bore face, as this can distort the inside diameter and affect tool guidance accuracy. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and replacement; it is a permanent installation.
