The BONEHAM P328FV is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to Industry Code P standards, this bushing features a 0.191-inch inside diameter (wire size #11) and a 0.5-inch outside diameter, with an overall length of 0.5 inches. Manufactured from hardened steel at 60 to 65 HRC, it provides durable, wear-resistant tool guidance. The headless design allows it to sit flush in the jig plate, making it well suited for close-tolerance drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Licensed machinists and toolmakers are the typical installers in precision manufacturing environments.
This bushing is used in drill jig plates and fixture tooling where repeatable hole location is required. The press fit installation method locks the bushing permanently in the jig plate without a retaining screw, making it appropriate for high-volume production runs where the bushing position does not need to be changed. It conforms to ANSI standards for drill bushing geometry and tolerancing, ensuring interchangeability with other ANSI-conforming jig components. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches to maintain accurate tool guidance across production cycles.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing compatible with jig plates and fixtures dimensioned for a 0.5-inch outside diameter press fit bore at Industry Code P specifications.
Press fit bushings are installed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or hydraulic press; they should never be driven in with a hammer, as this can damage the bushing bore or distort the jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement. Verify tool clearance and bushing alignment before committing to the final press operation.
