The BONEHAM P328FT is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and reamers with precision in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built to Industry Code P specifications under ANSI standards, this bushing features a 3/16 inch inside diameter and a 1/2 inch outside diameter with a 1/2 inch overall length. Manufactured from hardened steel with a surface hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, it provides wear resistance and dimensional stability under repeated drilling cycles. The headless profile sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for applications where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece clearance or fixture design.
This bushing is used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and production tooling setups across machine shops, metal fabrication facilities, and manufacturing environments. It is installed directly into a prepared bore in the jig body and is not intended to be removed and replaced during normal service. Toolmakers, machinists, and fixture builders install this type of bushing when consistent, repeatable hole location is required across multiple workpieces. The 3/16 inch ID accommodates standard fractional drill sizes in that nominal range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or original-fit component for drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a press fit headless bushing with a 3/16 inch ID and 1/2 inch OD to ANSI Industry Code P specifications.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using a press or arbor press to seat the bushing into a precision-bored hole in the jig plate. The receiving bore should be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance to ensure the bushing is held securely without distorting the ID. Do not drive the bushing in with a hammer directly on the face, as this can damage the ground ID. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, plan the bore location carefully before pressing in place.
