The BONEHAM P326HD is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to industry code P, this bushing features a 0.246 inch inside diameter (letter size D), a 0.5 inch outside diameter, and an overall length of 0.375 inches. The bore holds an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent tool guidance across repeated operations. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, the P326HD delivers the wear resistance required in high-cycle production environments. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
This bushing is used in drill jigs and machining fixtures where a permanent, non-renewable press fit installation is required. The headless profile allows the bushing to sit flush within a jig plate, making it suitable for close-tolerance layouts where a flanged head would interfere with workpiece positioning or adjacent bushings. It is appropriate for light to medium production drilling, reaming, and similar guided-tool operations in both shop and field fixture setups.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and machining fixtures requiring a permanent bushing installation at letter size D (0.246 inch ID) with a 0.5 inch outside diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool and die professionals using a press or arbor press to drive the bushing into a pre-machined jig plate bore. The mating bore in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance to retain the bushing securely without damage. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, it is not designed to be removed and replaced in service; jig plate replacement or re-boring is required if the bushing must be changed. Verify that the jig plate material and hardness are compatible with the press fit retention requirements before installation.
