The BONEHAM P268HG is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and reamers with precision in jig and fixture applications. This is an Industry Code P bushing with a 0.250 inch inside diameter, a 13/32 inch body outside diameter, and a 1/2 inch overall length. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it provides the wear resistance required for repetitive drilling operations. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, keeping hole location consistent across high-volume production runs. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the typical installers.
This bushing is suited for use in precision drill jigs where a permanent, flush-mounted guide is required. The headless profile sits flush with or below the jig plate surface, making it appropriate for applications where a flanged head would interfere with workpiece seating or fixturing. It is a non-renewable bushing, meaning it is pressed permanently into the jig body rather than swapped out for liner-style service. Typical use is in metalworking, fabrication shops, and production environments that require consistent hole placement across multiple workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style permanent press fit drill bushing conforming to ANSI standards for Industry Code P headless bushings, suitable for standard drill jig plates and fixture bodies machined to accept a 13/32 inch outside diameter press fit bushing.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into a properly sized and toleranced jig plate bore. The receiving bore should be finish-reamed to the required interference fit specification before pressing. Never drive the bushing in with an unsupported hammer strike, as this can crack or misalign the bushing. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or field replacement.
