The BONEHAM P2612HG is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. It carries an inside diameter of 0.25 inches (bushing industry code P, letter designation E) and a body outside diameter of 13/32 inches, with an overall length of 3/4 inches. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, the P2612HG provides the wear resistance needed for repetitive production drilling in jig and fixture setups. The inside diameter is held to a tight tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent tool guidance across high-volume runs. Machinists and toolmakers install this bushing type in drill jigs for aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking applications.
This bushing is suited for use in press fit drill jig applications where a flush, headless installation is required and no renewable bushing interchange is needed. The headless design seats flush with the jig plate surface, making it appropriate for applications where the workpiece or fixture geometry cannot accommodate a flanged head. It is installed permanently into the jig body and is not intended for removal and replacement during normal service. Typical users include tool and die shops, production machine shops, and manufacturing facilities running repeat-hole patterns on metal workpieces.
Designed as a permanent press fit drill bushing conforming to ANSI standards, suitable for installation in drill jigs and fixtures requiring a 13/32-inch body outside diameter bore and a 0.25-inch inside diameter tool guide.
Press fit drill bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinist trades using an arbor press or hydraulic press, ensuring the bushing bore in the jig plate is machined to the appropriate interference fit before installation. Power down all machine tools before handling or pressing bushings into fixtures. Once pressed in, the P2612HG is not designed for removal without risk of damage to the jig plate bore. Follow ANSI and shop-standard jig-bushing installation procedures for bore preparation and press fit allowances.
