The BONEHAM P208FC is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Carrying the industry code P, this bushing installs without a head or locking collar, seating flush within a machined receiver hole. The inside diameter measures 0.166 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, accommodating a number 19 wire-gauge drill. The body outside diameter is 5/16 inches and the overall length is 1/2 inch. Hardness runs 60 to 65 HRC, giving the steel body the wear resistance needed to maintain hole location accuracy across repeated drill cycles. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers.
This bushing is used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and production tooling setups where a permanent, non-renewable guide bushing is appropriate. The headless profile suits applications where a flush or sub-flush installation is required and no tool change between operations is needed. It conforms to ANSI standards for drill bushing geometry, making it a straightforward drop-in for fixtures designed to that specification. Typical environments include machine shops, production lines, and maintenance repair facilities working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing suitable for jig and fixture plates machined to accept a 5/16-inch outside diameter P-series bushing.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or bushing driver — never a hammer directly on the bushing face. The receiving hole in the fixture plate must be finish-reamed to the appropriate press fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is considered permanent and is not designed for removal and reuse. Verify the bushing is fully seated and flush before use in production.
