The BONEHAM P206EL is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. Classified under Industry Code P, this bushing features a 0.147-inch inside diameter and a 5/16-inch outside diameter, with an overall length of 3/8 inches. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it resists wear under repeated tooling contact. The tight inside diameter tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0004 inches ensures consistent hole location accuracy. Machinists, toolmakers, and fabricators install these bushings directly into jig plates or fixtures without the need for a locking collar or retaining nut.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling setups found in precision machining environments including job shops, production floors, and maintenance departments. The headless, press fit design keeps the bushing flush with the jig surface, making it appropriate for applications where clearance above the workpiece is limited. It is not renewable and is intended as a permanent or semi-permanent installation once pressed into the receiving bore.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headless drill bushing for use in standard jig plates and tooling fixtures that accept a 5/16-inch outside diameter bushing bore.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a prepared receiving bore. The receiving bore should be finished to the appropriate tolerance for an interference fit before pressing the bushing into place. Power to any associated machinery must be locked out and tagged out before jig maintenance or bushing replacement. Because this bushing is not renewable, removal typically damages the bushing and may require reaming or reboring the fixture hole.
