The BONEHAM P205FT is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision in metalworking and machining applications. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear through repeated drilling cycles. The inside diameter measures 0.1875 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring close control over drill bit alignment. The outside diameter is 5/16 inches and the overall length is 5/16 inches. It installs without a head, sitting flush in the jig plate for applications where clearance is limited. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and templates in production machining and fabrication environments. Its headless design makes it appropriate for installations where a protruding flange would interfere with workpiece movement or clamping. The press fit installation method locks the bushing permanently into the jig body without additional fasteners. Typical use cases include repetitive hole drilling operations where consistent hole location is required across multiple workpieces.
Designed as a permanent press fit replacement bushing conforming to ANSI P-series headless drill bushing standards, suitable for standard drill jig plates and fixtures that accept a 5/16 inch outside diameter press fit bushing.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into a properly reamed jig plate bore. The receiving bore should be finish-reamed to the correct press fit tolerance before installation to avoid distorting the bushing inside diameter. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and replacement. Ensure the jig plate is securely fixtured during pressing to prevent misalignment.
