The BONEHAM P2022EF is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Conforming to ANSI standards and manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers consistent tool guidance and resists wear under repeated production use. It features an inside diameter of 0.1405 inches (wire size #28) with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a body outside diameter of 5/16 inches, and an overall length of 1-3/8 inches. The headless profile keeps the bushing flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for applications where clearance is limited. Machinists and toolmakers install this component as a fixed, non-renewable liner in drill jigs and fixture plates.
This bushing is used in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and production environments where repeatable hole location accuracy is required. The press fit installation method locks the bushing permanently into a prepared jig plate bore without the need for a retaining screw or lock mechanism. The counterbored construction accommodates specific jig plate configurations. Typical applications include drilling fixtures for metal components in manufacturing and aerospace tooling setups where ANSI-compliant bushings are specified.
Designed as an ANSI-compliant press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a 5/16-inch bore and a #28 wire size (0.1405-inch) tool guide.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press to drive the bushing into a precisely reamed jig plate bore. The receiving bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is not intended for removal or replacement. Power down all associated machinery and secure the workpiece fixture before performing bushing installation or inspection.
