The BONEHAM P2012FX is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for repeated drilling operations on production floors and in job shops. The headless profile sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for close-tolerance setups where a flanged head would interfere. With an inside diameter of 0.1935 inches, an outside diameter of 5/16 inches, and an overall length of 3/4 inches, it conforms to ANSI standards for industry code P bushings.
This bushing is used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling assemblies where accurate hole location and repeatable guidance are required. Typical applications include production drilling of small-diameter holes in metalworking, fabrication, and machining environments. The press fit installation method creates a permanent, interference-fit installation in the jig plate, making it appropriate for high-cycle operations where the bushing is not intended to be removed between production runs. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
Designed as an ANSI-standard industry code P press fit headless drill bushing for use in jig plates and fixture tooling requiring a permanent bushing installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool and die makers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into a precision-reamed hole in the jig plate. The mating hole in the plate must be sized to the correct interference fit for the outside diameter before pressing. Never drive the bushing with impact tools, as this can distort the bore. Verify inside diameter alignment after pressing to confirm tool guidance geometry has not shifted.
