The BONEHAM P2012FH is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from hardened steel with a surface hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear under repeated drilling cycles. The headless design allows flush seating within the jig plate, making it suitable for close-clearance setups where a flanged head would interfere. The inside diameter is 0.173 inches (Wire Size No. 17) with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent hole location accuracy. The body outside diameter is 5/16 inches with an overall length of 3/4 inches.
This bushing is intended for use in production drilling, reaming, and boring jigs across metalworking and machining environments. It installs directly into a prepared bore in a drill jig plate using a press fit method, requiring no additional locking hardware. It conforms to ANSI standards for drill bushings. Machinists and toolmakers working in production shops, job shops, or maintenance environments use this type of bushing to maintain hole position accuracy across high-volume run operations.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jig plates where a permanent, flush-mount bushing is required. Compatible with standard jig plate bores machined to accept a 5/16 inch outside diameter press fit bushing per ANSI specifications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing flush into a properly reamed jig plate bore. The receiving bore must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance before installation to avoid distorting the bushing ID. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement. Always verify bore alignment and cleanliness before pressing to prevent galling or misalignment.
