The BONEHAM P164DK is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Assigned industry code P, this bushing features a 0.11 inch inside diameter (wire size No. 35) and a 0.25 inch body outside diameter, with an overall length of 0.25 inches. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it delivers the wear resistance required for repetitive production drilling. The headless profile sits flush with the jig plate, making it suitable for close-clearance fixture layouts where a flanged head would interfere with part loading or clamping.
This bushing is used in drill jig and fixture applications across metalworking, machining, and precision fabrication environments. It is installed directly into a hardened jig plate or liner bushing bore and is intended for permanent or fixed-location setups where the bushing is not routinely removed. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in job shops and production facilities are the primary installers. The press fit installation method means the bushing is driven or pressed into the mating bore and retained by interference fit without additional fasteners.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed drill bushing conforming to ANSI P-series headless press fit standards, suitable for use in drill jigs and fixtures requiring a 0.25 inch outside diameter bore.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into a precision-bored mating hole. The receiving bore should be sized to the published interference fit specification before pressing to avoid galling or cracking the bushing. Do not use a hammer directly on the bushing face. Once pressed in, this non-renewable bushing is not designed for routine removal and should be considered permanent in the fixture plate.
