The BONEHAM P1616DV is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, it provides the wear resistance needed for repetitive drilling operations. The bushing features a 0.125-inch inside diameter, a 0.25-inch outside diameter, and an overall length of 1 inch. The inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent hole location across production runs. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders install this type of bushing when a permanent, non-renewable guide is required in a drill plate or jig body.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and tooling plates where a headless profile is required to sit flush with or below the surface of the jig plate. The press fit installation method means no set screws or locking mechanisms are needed. It is appropriate for both light production and high-cycle machining environments. The counterbored feature accommodates specific plate or fixture configurations requiring additional clearance at the mounting face. Compliance with ANSI standards makes it compatible with standard jig bushing system layouts used in precision metalworking shops and manufacturing facilities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press fit headless drill bushing conforming to ANSI jig bushing standards, suitable for use in standard drill jig plates and tooling fixtures accepting a 0.25-inch outside diameter bushing.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer to avoid damaging the bore or the host plate. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be finish-reamed to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and reuse. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and de-energize any associated machinery before performing fixture maintenance or bushing replacement.
