The BONEHAM P138CY is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools accurately during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Manufactured from steel with a hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear during repetitive production runs. It features a 0.098 inch inside diameter, a 13/64 inch body outside diameter, and a 1/2 inch overall length. The headless design seats flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for applications where tool clearance is tight or where a protruding head would interfere with the workpiece or fixture. Machinists and toolmakers install this bushing directly into drill jig plates and fixtures.
This bushing is intended for use in drill jigs and fixture tooling across general machining, manufacturing, and production environments. It fits applications requiring precise hole location guidance where a permanent, non-renewable press fit bushing is appropriate. The inside diameter corresponds to wire gauge size 40, making it suitable for guiding small-diameter drills and reamers. It is applicable in both light-production and high-volume fixture setups where consistent hole placement is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install press fit headless drill bushing conforming to ANSI P-series dimensional standards, suitable for standard drill jig plates and fixture tooling bored to accept a 13/64 inch outside diameter bushing.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer, as this can damage the bushing bore or distort the jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct tolerance fit before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended to be removed and reused. Always verify inside diameter clearance against the specific drill or reamer shank diameter before installation.
