The BONEHAM P136BT is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. Classified under industry code P, this bushing features a 0.0635 inch inside diameter corresponding to a number 52 wire gauge drill, a 13/64 inch body outside diameter, and a 3/8 inch overall length. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it provides the wear resistance needed for repetitive drilling operations. The headless profile sits flush with the jig plate surface, keeping the work envelope clean. Inside diameter tolerance is held to plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent hole location across production runs.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and tooling plates in machine shops, production environments, and maintenance facilities. The press fit installation method locks the bushing permanently into the jig plate bore without additional fasteners. It is a non-renewable design, meaning it is intended for fixed, long-term installation rather than routine field replacement. Machinists, tool and die makers, and production engineers typically specify this bushing when tight hole-location tolerances and high cycle counts are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press fit headless drill bushing for use in standard ANSI-compliant jig plates and fixture tooling that accept a P-series bushing with a 13/64 inch body outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or tool and die makers using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer, as impact can damage the bushing bore or distort the jig plate. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance specified for P-series bushings before installation. Once pressed in, this non-renewable bushing is not intended for removal and reinstallation. Always verify the jig plate is secured and the drill press or CNC spindle is powered down before seating or inspecting bushings in a live fixture.
