The BONEHAM P1316CN is a press fit headless drill bushing used to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features a 0.086 inch inside diameter (wire gauge number 44) and a 13/64 inch body outside diameter, with an overall bushing length of 1 inch. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear during repeated drilling operations and maintains tight dimensional tolerances. The inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches ensures consistent hole location and drill guidance across production runs. It is designed for permanent installation in drill jigs where a renewable bushing is not required.
This bushing is suited for use in precision drill jigs and tooling fixtures in machining, metalworking, and fabrication environments. The headless press fit design makes it appropriate for applications where a flush or below-surface profile is required. Its compact outside diameter and 1 inch overall length fit standard bushing plate thicknesses. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders working in job shops and production facilities install this type of bushing. The counterbored design allows for proper seating and alignment within the jig plate.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drill bushing for use in ANSI-standard press fit headless bushing applications with a P industry code designation.
Press fit drill bushings are typically installed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to achieve an interference fit in the jig plate bore. Ensure the receiving bore is machined to the correct tolerance for the specified outside diameter before pressing to avoid damage to the bushing or plate. Do not drive the bushing with impact tools. Once pressed in, this is a permanent non-renewable installation and the bushing is not intended to be removed and reused.
