The BONEHAM L4828LK is a headless L-style drill bushing liner designed to provide a precise, renewable guide interface in hardened drill jig plates. With a 1/2 inch inside diameter, 3/4 inch body outside diameter, and 1-3/4 inch liner length, this bushing is manufactured from alloy steel and heat-treated to a hardness of 60-65 HRC. The press fit installation method locks the liner firmly into the jig body without the need for additional fasteners. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fixture builders rely on this style of liner when a flush, snag-free top surface is required on a drill jig or fixture plate.
The L4828LK is suited for production drilling, reaming, and boring operations in metalworking shops, manufacturing facilities, and tool rooms. The headless design is preferred in applications where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece clamping or fixturing. It accepts standard renewable drill bushings that slip into the liner bore, allowing worn guide bushings to be swapped out without disturbing the press-fit liner already seated in the jig plate. This makes it a practical choice for high-cycle production jigs where bushing replacement downtime must be minimized.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install liner for standard L-type drill jig fixtures requiring a 1/2 inch inside diameter headless liner with a 3/4 inch body outside diameter and press fit retention.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machining professionals using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the liner flush with or below the jig plate surface. Ensure the receiving bore in the jig plate is machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before pressing the liner into place. Do not drive the liner with a hammer directly on the bore face, as this can distort the inside diameter. Always verify bore alignment with the drill axis before committing the liner to a permanent press fit.
