The BONEHAM L3216IM is a headless L-type drill bushing liner designed to locate and guide drill bushings in jig and fixture applications. With a 5/16-inch inside diameter and a 1/2-inch body outside diameter, this liner installs via press fit into a prepared jig plate or fixture body. The overall liner length is 1 inch. Manufactured from alloy steel and hardened to 60-65 HRC, it provides the wear resistance needed for repetitive drilling cycles in production environments. This component is installed by tool and die makers, machinists, and fixture builders working in machine shops and manufacturing facilities.
The L3216IM liner is used in drill jigs where a renewable slip or fixed bushing must be located with precision. The headless L-style liner sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it appropriate for applications where a protruding flange would interfere with workpiece clearance or chip flow. It is a standard industry-coded L liner, suited for use in both light-production and high-volume drilling setups where consistent hole placement is required across identical workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation liner for standard L-series drill jig fixtures requiring a 5/16-inch ID headless liner with a 1/2-inch body outside diameter and 1-inch liner length.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool and die maker using a hydraulic or arbor press to seat the liner into a correctly dimensioned and toleranced bore in the jig plate. The receiving bore must be machined to the appropriate press fit tolerance for the 1/2-inch body outside diameter before installation. Do not drive the liner with a hammer directly on the bore face, as this can distort the ID or crack the hardened liner. Follow applicable shop standards and fixture design specifications for liner retention and replacement intervals.
