The BONEHAM HL8834OR is an HL-series drill bushing liner with head, designed to serve as a renewable, press-fit guide insert in jig plates and fixture tooling. It accepts a 1-inch inside diameter and features a 1-3/8-inch body outside diameter and a 1/2-inch head outside diameter of 1-1/2 inches, providing a secure shoulder seating against the jig plate surface. The liner body measures 2-1/8 inches in length with a 1/8-inch head height. Constructed from alloy steel, the HL8834OR is built to withstand repeated tooling cycles in precision drilling operations. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fixture builders install this type of liner as a fixed-head renewable guide component.
This liner is used in production drilling applications where a headed press-fit bushing is required to maintain accurate hole location across multiple workpiece runs. The HL designation indicates a liner style with an integral head, making it suitable for jig plate installations where the bushing must be retained flush or proud of the plate surface. It is appropriate for both light manufacturing and heavy-production fixture setups requiring consistent drill guidance on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for HL-series drill jig bushing systems using press-fit liner installation in production fixture plates.
Installation is performed by tool-and-die makers or fixture technicians using an arbor press or hydraulic press to achieve proper press-fit seating in the jig plate bore. Ensure the bore in the jig plate is machined to the correct tolerance for a press fit before installation. Do not drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the head, as this can damage the seating shoulder or distort the inside diameter. Follow applicable shop-floor tooling standards and drawing callouts for fit class and surface finish on the receiving bore.
