The BONEHAM HL11228RA is an HL-series drill bushing liner with head, designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from alloy steel, this liner seats into a master bushing or jig plate via press fit installation. It features a 1-3/8 inch inside diameter bore, a 1-3/4 inch body outside diameter, and a 1-3/4 inch liner length. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, maintaining consistent tool positioning across repeated operations. Machinists and toolmakers use this component when a renewable liner system is needed for high-volume drilling, reaming, or boring setups.
This liner is suited for precision machining environments including production drilling fixtures, CNC jig plates, and manual drill press setups. The HL industry code designates a headed liner style, which is appropriate when axial retention and face registration are required. It is installed into a compatible head-type master bushing already seated in the jig plate, allowing the liner to be swapped out as it wears without disturbing the fixture itself. Applications span general metalworking shops, aerospace fixture work, and toolroom operations where repeatable hole location is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation HL drill bushing liner for use with compatible head-type master bushings in standard jig and fixture systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolmakers using a drill press or arbor press to achieve the required press fit seating. Ensure the master bushing bore and mating surfaces are clean and free of burrs before pressing the liner in place. Do not use impact tools to drive the liner, as this can damage the bore geometry or the head seating face. Verify bore alignment and liner seating depth before returning the fixture to service.
