The BONEHAM HL11216RA is an HL-series drill bushing liner with a headed flange, designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. The liner features a 1-3/8 inch inside diameter and a 1-3/4 inch body outside diameter, with an overall liner length of 1 inch and a head height of 3/16 inch. The head outside diameter measures 1-7/8 inch. Constructed from alloy steel, this liner is installed via press fit into a master bushing already seated in the jig plate. Machinists and toolroom professionals install this component to enable quick changeout of drill, reamer, or other tooling bushings without disturbing the jig setup.
This liner is used in production drilling and reaming operations where a renewable slip-fit bushing system is required. The headed (HL) design seats positively against the jig plate surface, resisting axial pullout during tool retraction. Typical applications include production jig fixtures in metalworking, aerospace, and general machining environments where repeatable hole location is critical across high-cycle operations. The press fit installation ensures the liner stays seated in the master bushing throughout the tool cycle.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for HL-series master bushing systems used in drill jig and fixture assemblies requiring headed liner bushings.
Installation is performed by toolroom machinists or fixture builders using an arbor press or hydraulic press to achieve the required press fit into the mating master bushing. Ensure the receiving master bushing bore is clean and free of burrs before pressing the liner into position. Do not hammer the liner directly — use a proper pressing sleeve or driver to avoid damage to the head flange or bore surface. Verify inside diameter clearance against the intended cutting tool before pressing the liner into service.
