The BONEHAM H8816OR is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and honing operations. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for sustained use in production jigs and fixtures. The headed design seats flush against the jig plate face, preventing the bushing from being pushed through under axial load. With a 1 inch inside diameter and a body outside diameter of 1-3/8 inches, the H8816OR is sized for heavy-duty tooling applications where dimensional accuracy and repeatable hole location are critical.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling assemblies found in machining, metalworking, and fabrication environments. The press fit installation method locks the bushing permanently into the jig plate without the need for retaining screws or locking mechanisms, making it appropriate for fixed, high-volume production setups. It is not renewable or removable once installed, so it is best specified when tooling geometry is finalized. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Type H press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a permanent 1 inch bore guide.
Press fit bushings are installed by a tool and die maker or machinist using an arbor press or hydraulic press; hand tools are not sufficient to achieve proper seating. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be bored or reamed to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not removable without damaging the jig plate, so verify fixture layout before pressing. Power down all machinery and secure the jig assembly before performing any bushing installation or inspection work.
