The BONEHAM H8816NR is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel, designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. With a 27/32 inch inside diameter, a 1-3/8 inch body outside diameter, and a 1 inch length under the head, this bushing installs directly into a drill jig plate without the need for a liner bushing. The head sits flush on top of the jig plate to prevent the bushing from being pushed through during operation. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0002 to +0.0006 inches, ensuring consistent, repeatable hole location accuracy. Machinists, toolmakers, and production drilling personnel are the primary installers.
The H8816NR is suited for use in drill jigs across general metalworking, fabrication, and light manufacturing environments. It is intended for permanent or long-run installations where the jig setup does not require frequent bushing changes. The headed design prevents pull-through on through-plate jig applications. The steel construction withstands the abrasion and heat generated during repeated drilling cycles. This bushing is not counterbored and is not classified as a renewable bushing, making it appropriate for fixed jig tooling rather than interchangeable tooling systems.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed drill jig bushing conforming to Type H headed press fit bushing standards, suitable for drill jig plates requiring a permanent, non-renewable bushing installation.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machining personnel using a press or arbor press to drive the bushing into the jig plate bore. The jig plate bore must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is not intended for removal or reuse. Ensure the jig plate is clean and free of burrs before pressing to avoid damage to the bushing or plate.
