The BONEHAM H8812OE is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Machined from steel, this bushing features a 59/64 inch inside diameter and a 1-3/8 inch body outside diameter, providing a stable bore guide for repetitive hole-location work. The headed design keeps the bushing flush and seated against the jig plate surface, preventing axial movement under tool pressure. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0002 to +0.0006 inches for consistent tool guidance. This bushing is a permanent, non-renewable press fit component intended for production jig and fixture applications where the bushing is not expected to be removed from the plate after installation.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs and fixture plates in metalworking, machining, and fabrication environments. The Type H headed configuration works in applications where the head must seat on the top face of the jig plate to control insertion depth. With a 3/4 inch length under the head and a 3/8 inch head height, it fits standard jig plate thicknesses common in production and prototype machining shops. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for standard drill jig plates and fixture assemblies requiring a Type H press fit headed drill bushing.
Press fit bushings are installed using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer, as this can damage the bushing bore or distort the jig plate hole. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and reuse. Follow applicable shop standards and tooling engineering drawings for proper plate thickness and hole preparation.
