The BONEHAM H568MK is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing used to guide cutting tools accurately during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. It installs permanently into a jig plate without the need for a locking mechanism, making it suited for high-volume, repetitive hole operations where the bushing stays in place throughout the production run. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, the H568MK provides long service life under continuous tool contact. The headed design seats flush against the jig plate surface, controlling axial positioning precisely. Machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople are the primary installers.
The H568MK is applied in drill jig assemblies used in metalworking, fabrication, and production machining environments. Its 41/64 inch inside diameter accepts standard cutting tool shanks of that size. The 7/8 inch body outside diameter and 1/2 inch length under head suit moderate-thickness jig plate applications. The head outside diameter measures 1-7/64 inches with a head height of 1/4 inch. This bushing conforms to ANSI standards and is not designed to be renewable or interchangeable with slip-renewable liners.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headed drill bushing conforming to ANSI Type H standards, suitable for installation in drill jig plates requiring a permanent bushing with a 41/64 inch bore and 7/8 inch body outside diameter.
Installation is performed by tool-and-die makers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a machined hole in the jig plate. Power down or de-energize any associated machinery before pressing the bushing into the jig. Do not use a hammer directly on the bushing face, as this can damage the bore tolerance or distort the head seating surface. Verify jig plate hole diameter and surface finish conform to ANSI press fit requirements before installation.
