The BONEHAM H568LK is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for high-volume production jig work. The press fit installation method locks the bushing securely into the jig plate without hardware, and the headed design provides a positive stop against the plate surface. Inside diameter is 0.5000 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring tight, repeatable tool guidance. Licensed machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders rely on this bushing for accurate hole location.
The H568LK is suited for use in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling assemblies across both production machining and job-shop environments. Its ANSI-compliant geometry makes it a standard replacement in any shop that works to common drill bushing specifications. The headed style is particularly useful where the bushing must be retained flush or proud of the jig plate surface for clearance or chip-relief purposes.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Type H press fit headed drill bushing suitable for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a 0.875-inch body outside diameter bore and a 0.5-inch guided tool diameter.
Installation is performed by pressing the bushing into a precision-bored jig plate hole using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer directly on the bushing head. Ensure the receiving bore matches the body outside diameter tolerance before pressing to avoid splitting the plate or distorting the bushing ID. This is a permanent, non-renewable bushing; removal typically damages the bushing and may require the jig plate bore to be reworked. Follow applicable ANSI and shop safety procedures when pressing tooling components.
