The BONEHAM H486KI is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Manufactured from steel, this bushing features an inside diameter of 0.413 inches with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring accurate tool guidance and repeatable hole placement across production runs. The head configuration allows the bushing to seat flush against a jig plate surface, providing a positive stop and preventing axial migration during machining. Machinists, toolmakers, and jig-and-fixture builders install this bushing as a fixed, non-renewable guide in drill jigs and fixture plates.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig plates where a permanent, press-fit installation is required. The headed design accommodates applications where the bushing must be retained on the face of the jig plate rather than recessed entirely. With a body outside diameter of 0.75 inches, a length under head of 0.375 inches, a head outside diameter of 0.921875 inches, and a head height of 0.21875 inches, it fits standard jig plate configurations used in metalworking, aerospace component work, and general precision machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed drill bushing for use in steel or aluminum drill jig plates requiring a press fit headed bushing with an industry standard Type H body configuration.
Press fit bushings are installed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer directly on the head. Ensure the receiving hole in the jig plate is machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing in the bushing. Once installed, this bushing is non-renewable and is not intended for field removal and replacement. Power down all associated machining equipment before servicing or replacing jig fixtures.
