The BONEHAM H4822LK is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from hardened steel for use in precision drilling and jig-tooling applications. With an inside diameter of 0.5 inches and a body outside diameter of 0.75 inches, this bushing guides drill bits and reamers with consistent accuracy. The 1.375-inch length under head provides adequate tool guidance depth for typical jig plate setups. Hardness is rated at 60 to 65 HRC, ensuring long service life under repeated drilling cycles. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, meeting the close-fit requirements of precision production work. It conforms to ANSI standards and is sold as a non-renewable, fixed installation bushing.
This bushing is intended for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and tooling plates where repeatable hole location is required. It is press fit directly into the jig plate, making it suitable for permanent or semi-permanent installations where tool guidance must remain fixed across production runs. Machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators install this type of bushing in both manual and CNC-assisted drilling operations. The headed design seats against the jig plate surface, preventing the bushing from being pushed through under axial load.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures requiring a 0.75-inch body outside diameter and 0.5-inch inside diameter guide bore.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using a hydraulic or arbor press to drive the bushing into a properly toleranced jig plate bore. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance to avoid bushing distortion or ID dimensional shift after installation. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as uneven force can misalign the bore axis. Verify ID after installation to confirm dimensional integrity before use in production.
