The BONEHAM H4816LP is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from hardened steel. It is designed to guide drill bits, reamers, and other cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. The bushing presses directly into a jig or fixture plate without a locking mechanism, making it a permanent-installation component. With a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC and an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, it maintains tight positional accuracy across repeated drilling cycles. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabrication shops install this bushing in drill jigs to ensure consistent hole placement on production runs.
The H4816LP is suited for use in drill jigs and fixture plates in metalworking, manufacturing, and precision fabrication environments. Its headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, controlling the seated depth of the bushing. This makes it appropriate for applications where the bushing must be flush-registered against the fixture face. The press fit installation method means the bushing is intended as a fixed, non-renewable component once seated, making it well suited to high-volume or repetitive drilling setups where the bushing is not expected to be swapped between runs.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Type H press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a 3/4 inch OD press fit bore and a 33/64 inch tool guide bore.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians using a press or arbor press to seat the bushing into a properly reamed fixture hole. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance to achieve a secure press fit. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, the fixture plate bore should be inspected for size and finish before pressing to avoid damage to the bushing or plate. Once pressed in, the bushing is not intended to be removed and reused.
